Cera Impala

Cera Impala is a wild banjo-wielding mama from the USA who has toured internationally. A magnetic songsmith with a voice both timeless and unique, her compositions and lyrics spin genuine and intimate yarns. A multi-instrumentalist, she plays ukelele, guitar, and her very own brand of hard-driving clawhammer banjo. She performs with relaxed charm, wit, intelligence and passion, whether appearing as a solo artist, as a duo with violinist Dirk Ronneburg, or with her band, The New Prohibition. Cera has collaborated with a wide range of artists in a variety of styles, from traditional old-time mountain music & bluegrass, to swing & jazz, to indie & electro-coustic pop, and was formerly guitarist, singer, and contributing songwriter with the Blackberry Bushes Stringband (Seattle) before taking up her current residence in Berlin in 2007. Cera and the band just wrapped up production of her latest CD "Higher Place", and have plans to relocate to Edinburgh, Scotland in the summer of 2012.
